+The first Members Meeting of the new year will be on Thursday evening the 25th of January at the Coast Plaza Hotel on Comox at Denman, Vancouver. The Board of Directors will hold a discussion about the upcoming CTGA year with the Members. Doors open at 6 PM with the meeting starting at 6:30 PM. No need to rsvp.
+One of our Members has set up a day-trip to the Boeing Tour Center in Everett Washington. They now also have a wonderful new museum -- time for both... Saturday 17 February, 2007. Other details and a cost per person; open to Members and a guest - please contact us (at 604-876-2576) for more details and to RSVP ASAP.
+Our regular end-of-the-month Members Meeting for February will be held on Thursday evening the 22nd at the Rosedale Hotel on Robson at Hamilton Street, Vancouver. A guest speaker from the new Canada Line rapid transit system will be on hand... Plus Members are encouraged to participate in a 'swap and shop' -bring any local or long-distance tourism, guiding or commentary related books, brochures, and video's, etc, that you no longer need -- others might be able to use them!!! Doors open at 6 PM with the meeting starting at 6:30 PM. No need to rsvp.
+We have planned a two-day one night trip to Victoria, Duncan, Chemainus and Nanaimo for Saturday March 10th and Sunday March 11th. The first day and night will cover just Victoria... Come with us for one or both days... Open to Members and one guest. There will be a cost per person; please contact us at 604-876-2576 for more details or to RSVP.
+Our regular end-of-the-month Members Meeting for March will be held on Thursday evening the 29th at The Lookout observation deck on top of the Harbour Centre Tower at Hastings and Seymour in Vancouver. The Lookout has recently renovated plus we will have a guest speaker from the Vancouver Park Board who will talk on last year's wind damage to Stanley Park. Doors open at 6 PM with the meeting starting at 6:30 PM... No need to rsvp.
+CTGA of BC Member Jeff V will hold two up-coming lectures on how to do a Vancouver City Tour in a mini or full size coach... One three-hour classroom sitting on Sat March 24th, and one 5-hour field trip on Sunday April 1st. Only open to Members of the CTGA of BC. Take one or both; there is a cost per meeting. +The Easter weekend this year is...Good Friday 6 April, Easter Sunday 8 April.
+On Thursday the 19th of April
(note the date change from the 12th) the association is planning an afternoon tour of some of the more interesting
malls on No. 3 Road at Cambie in Richmond. Please contact us for more details and to RSVP...
+Two items of note are happening on Sunday
the 15th of April... The annual
Vancouver Sun Run (Vancouver city tour routes will be affected) and the
return of The Royal Hudson steam train (which will run a public excursion
from the Rocky Mountaineer Station to White Rock and return). Details on the
Royal Hudson trip can be found at
www.wcra.org . That event is being run by the West Coast Railway
Association. The Royal Hudson train has been out of service since October of
1999.
+The Annual Capilano Suspension Bridge Tour Guide Appreciation Day Breakfast will happen on Wednesday the 18th of April . We'll then visit with our friends at The CN IMAX Theatre at Canada Place after the breakfast... Plus the Annual Tourism Showcase will take place at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver from 12 Noon to 4 PM. For more details and to RSVP, please contact us (no need to rsvp for the 'showcase' event).
+Our regular end-of-the-month Members Meeting for April will be held on Thursday evening the 26th at he River Rock Casino and Hotel in Richmond. Several guest speakers on at least three different topics will be present. Doors open at 6 PM with the meeting starting at 6:30 PM... No need to rsvp.
+A Members Meeting is being planned for Thursday the 24th of May at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre / Vancouver Museum... Guest speakers will be present plus Members and guests will be able to explore the museum. Doors open at 6 PM with the meeting starting at 6:30 PM... No need to rsvp.
+We will be doing a special summer social meeting on Saturday evening August 11th at the Richmond Night Market. Please contact us for more details and to RSVP.
+We have received our annual invitation to attend this year's Tourism Vancouver 10th Annual Open House at their downtown Vancouver headquarters (Burrard at Cordova Streets) on Wednesday the 3rd of October. Please RSVP by contacting us ASAP. This 'drop-by' event runs from 4 PM to 7 PM. Plenty of food and fun ! ! !
+More than 700 of your close tourism front-line workers will be at the 18th Annual Vancouver Tourism Awards on Thursday morning the 25th of October. This top-notch event has moved this year to the Sheraton Wall Centre at Burrard and Nelson Streets in Vancouver. An early 7 am start with a very special keynote speaker... There is a cost and you must RSVP; please contact us right away...
+Our regular end-of-the-month Members Meeting for October will be held on Thursday evening the 25th at 1010 Howe Street at Nelson in Vancouver - a new venue for us - doors open at 6 PM, meeting starts at 6:30 pm. Meeting will celebrate the CTGA's 18th birthday plus we'll have a guest speaker. No need to rsvp.
+Our CTGA of BC Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday evening November 15th again at the YWCA Residence at 733 Beatty Street, Vancouver. Doors open at 6 pm, with the meeting starting at 6:30 pm. No need to rsvp.
+Our Annual Christmas Party will be held on Monday evening December 3rd at Romana's Restaurant at 4660 Hastings Street in North Burnaby. Open to Members and two guests. For more details including costs, and to RSVP, please contact us.
