The next end-of-the month regular members meeting will be held on Thursday January 24th, at 7 PM at Hill's Native Art in Gastown (on Water Street very close to the Steam Clock....note: this is not the last Thursday of the month).

A short tour and look at the wonderful art at this venue will take place followed by chance for the CTGA Board and members to have a general discussion on a number of important points. This portion of the meeting will take place on the second floor.

The next meeting of the Focus Committee on Guiding Issues will be held on Thursday January 31st at 7 PM at the Empire Landmark Hotel on Robson Street.

The likely date for the next About Town Tour might be on Tuesday February 19th OR Tuesday March 12th. More details will follow.

The date for the February end-of-the month regular members meeting will be held on Thursday February 28th at 7 PM at a location to be announced.

The date for the March end-of-the month regular members meeting will be held on Wednesday March 27th at 7 PM at a location to be announced. What? Why is it being held on a Wednesday? Because Thursday March 28th is the day before the start of a long-holiday weekend...Good Friday is March 29th...this means Easter will be held on Sunday March 31st this year.

In April we usually all meet up at the Annual Capilano Suspension Bridge's Tourist Guide Appreciation Day....the date for this does not usually come till about a month or so before the event....but it is usually a weekday morning near the middle of the month.

There might be a meeting in May of this year for the members who are not working out of town. Details will follow.

The first end-of-season regular members meeting will be held on Thursday October 24th at 7 PM at a location to be announced in September or early October.

The date for the next Annual General Meeting will be on Thursday November 21st at 7 PM at a location to be announced in October.

The following are proposed dates for the meetings of the Board of Directors: Members are welcome but dates and locations may change...please either stay tuned or contact a board member: Feb 7th / March 7th / April 11th / May 9th / and just before the October 24th members meeting.

+After much gnashing of teeth, discussions with many people including the members, the Board, suppliers and others it has been decided that our next out-of-town Fam Trip, to Kamloops, Sun Peaks, and Lillooet will be held on three weekdays...Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday February 11th, 12th and the 13th. In view of many factors it was the best choice (last year the overwhelming choice was also a Mon, Tues and Wednesday).

The following is not all of the details....it is some of the them....more fine tuning is still ahead:

Day One...Monday Feb 11th: We will make the usual pick-ups and head out on Hwy One by 9 AM or so. One of the stops will be to see Cowboy Dan Bruce at the Nicola Ranch in Merritt BC....Dan might come with us as we go onto see the Quilchena Hotel and facilities...and continue on Hwy 5A to overnight in Kamloops. Evening will be at your leisure. We believe that the hotel accommodation will be at no charge and it will be right downtown, close to shops, restaurants and the Riverfront Park.

Day Two...Tuesday Feb 12th: After breakfast we'll take the one hour drive up to the Sun Peaks Resort on Todd Mountain. Hopefully we'll meet Nancy Greene Raine and her husband Al who will give us a tour of the venue. After lunch we'll head west on Hwy One to Cache Creek, North on Hwy 97 for a few minutes and south on Hwy 99 to Lillooet. Various things will be shown here and the following morning (more details coming soon....and believe me there are plenty of things to see and super people to meet including CTGA member Lucille S who lives there).

Day Three...Wednesday Feb 13th: After breakfast and seeing a few more of Lillooet's highlights, depending on road and weather conditions we'll most likely continue South on Hwy 99...the Duffy Lake Road to Pemberton and Whistler. We'll likely have a brief stop at the Whistler Village and then continue onto Vancouver. (Hwy 99 is the plan, but if need be we could head back via the Fraser Canyon.)

Cost: The price for this members only trip will likely be either $50 or $60 per person to pay for the bus, likely no charge for the first hotel, and possibly no charge for the second. If there is a cost for either of the hotels, in the past we have paid between $20 and $40, but I doubt that it would be the latter. Most meals and other items will be on your own.

Again, more details about this fam trip including the costs will be coming out your way soon.
