+The date of this year's Annual CTGA Christmas Lights Tour fundraiser.....it will be on Monday night December 17th. Please RSVP to Jeff at 604-876-2576 or e-mail jeffvanc@axion.net. This event is open to one and all (members, non-members, kids, grandma, etc.).

The Tour: We will visit many of the beautifully lit homes in both Vancouver and Burnaby. This popular event is very festive and generally sells out. (We do not visit the commercial display's such as Van Dusen Gardens, Canada Place or the Burnaby Heritage Village as they take more time to see....).

Duration: Between 2 and a half and 3 hours....it depends where people wish to be dropped off, which can be at some other location if you like.

Cost: Members $10

Non-Members $12

Seniors (60 +) $10

Kids (12 & under) $8

Two Pick Up Points: At 6:15 PM at the Hotel Georgia, Georgia & Howe (please wait in the lobby).

6:45 PM right beside the 711 store at 41st and Cambie.

Snow, rain or otherwise, this trip proceeds.

+The date for next years 16th Annual Brackendale Eagle Count will be on Sunday January 6th, 2002. The cost is the same as the lights tour (above) and it is open to one and all. Please RSVP (as above).

For this popular day trip we will depart the 711 store at 41st and Cambie at 8:45 AM, along Cambie Street to BC Place Stadium, the Hotel Georgia at 9 AM, along Georgia Street to Denman, and then the Holiday Inn on Capilano Road (near Marine Drive) in North Vancouver at 9:15 AM. We then head off to Squamish and Brackendale returning by about 4:30 or 5 PM.

Cost is the same as the Lights Tour (above).

Grab your binoculars, camera and warm clothes as we drive up the scenic Howe Sound to the see the annual visit by hundreds of these majestic birds.

Although we don’t do that much walking, it’s wise to wear boots and to bring an umbrella. We will also visit the Tenderfoot Fish Hatchery, the Brackendale Art Gallery and café (which is also the headquarters for the Eagle Count), and the West Coast Railway Heritage Park (which has a big new station building)…optional visit for $3.

LUNCH: Bring your own or your choice of restaurants.

This trip proceeds Sun, Snow or Rain…in fact it’s better if we get a cloudy wet day as the eagles tend to stay put in the trees.

+The next meeting of the Board of Directors will be at 5 PM at the Sandman Hotel on Georgia Street in downtown Vancouver on Wednesday January 9, 2002. At 7 PM in the same location will be the next meeting of the Focus Committee on Guiding Issues. No need to rsvp.

+The new Board is: President Ian Chuck Herron, VP L. Conacher, Treasurer Ken Beresford, Secretary George Garcia, Directors Denise Petch and Judy Wallace plus Immediate Past-President Jeff Veniot.

+The regular end-of-the month meeting for January will actually be held on the second last Thursday which is January 24th. We believe it will be held at Hill’s Native Art in Gastown.

There maybe other events held in January and if so we will let you know.
